E-News - Spring 2009

Welcome to KarriBindi E-News. This edition has been a long time coming, due largely to technical hiccups and an unusually hectic time in the vineyard. That said, our new look E-News is just in time for Summer, which is the perfect time to enjoy KarriBindi Wines.

It has been an amazing ride over the last year and many of you have joined us by tasting the results of 2008 success. Respected wine judge and wine writer, James Halliday, has reviewed all our wines and rated KarriBindi a 5 star winery, with our first entry in his Australian Wine Companion 2010. Our trophy winning 2008 Semillon Sauvignon Blanc received 95 points and it was listed as equal 2nd in his "best of the best" of Semillon Sauvignon Blanc Blends and in the top ten best value Whites!

The quality and results of our wine in 2008 was a tribute to our team's committment to quality, and in the same vein, our 2009 whites are also performing extremely well on this years show circuit. You can read more below on this years medal wins.

News from the Vineyard

Wet, Wet, Wet…A perfect Karridale winter for pruning. Pruning the vines for the 2010 vintage is now well and truly over. This was no small feat. It took 3 months of hard work in wind and rain, led by James Harris, our Viticulturalist, with his eagle eye for detail ensuring we started the season with the healthiest strongest vines possible. As you can see, Davo the vine dog, kept watch from his personal wine barrel!

Now the vines are powering ahead with beautiful spring weather; green, even, lushish growth and its all looking positive for another fantastic vintage at KarriBindi.

Word from the Winery and Wine Shows

Our New Release 2009 white wines were bottled on 6 July 2009. We like to leave them for a period of at least 3 months to settle after bottling, prior to release, and right now the aromas and flavours are spectacular; fresh, crisp with floral tropical and citrus notes.

As usual we have only produced limited quantities and given the quality of fruit and the medals they have received to date, we are confident you will be happy to again put your faith in KarriBindi, whether you have guests to impress or just want a stunning wine at the end of the day.

Our Semillon Sauvignon Blanc (2009) has again received a gold medal, together with 2 silver and 2 bronze medals. Our Sparkling Chardonnay Pinot was deemed the best WA Sparkling at the 2009 Qantas Wine Show of WA. All KarriBindi wines have been awarded medals this year. E-News Spring Specials

This spring edition of E-news we are giving you the chance to stock up on our 2008 Sauvignon Blanc for $180 including delivery. This wine just received another Silver medal at the 2009 Qantas Wine Show of WA, adding to the Silver medal it received at the 2008 Perth Royal Wine Show. Karridale is perfect for growing Sauvignon Blanc, and KarriBindi Sauvignon Blanc is perfect for all occasions particularly during Spring and Summer.
